Richmond Palace

Richmond Palace originated as Shene Manor House. It was converted into a royal palace by Edward III. This was rebuilt in 1501 by Henry VII and was henceforth known as Richmond Palace. ts heyday lasted one and a half centuries. Some of its inhabitants included Henry VIII, Edward VI, Mary and Elizabeth I. After the execution of Charles I, it was sold and demolition began in 1650. By 1660 there was nothing left.
