The home of the Duke and Duchess of Lauderdale, when they first moved here , they spent a tremendous amount of money on living it up and redecorating the house in a lavish style. Eventually, things took a downturn and the Duchess was widowed and was left with many debts and spent her final years alone and in poverty. Which was nice.
