Once the home of Louis Phillipe, the Duc d'Orleans in the early 19th Century. It was designed by James Gibbs and the Octagon was decorated by the stuccatori Guiseppe Artari and Giovanni Baguttti in 1720. This part, together with the remains of the original house, has since been transformed in to a gallery for the London Borough of
Richmond upon Thames (see links) .
