This has been in the Northumberland family for many years. Lady Jane Grey came here when she married into the family.
The body of henry VIII was laid in the dining room for the night as it was being transported down to London by boat, there was an unfortunate incident with the duke's dogs that managed to get into the room in the middle of the night, which left it all in a bit of a state.
